This week in the Gfinity Elite Series we saw Reason Gaming face off against Method in close battle as they both competed for their first win to get back in this season. After a competent first game for Reason, it looked like they would pull through and end the match in a victory. However, upon starting the match Reason saw a few quick early deaths and ended up losing 5-8. This ended the match in a draw, and it seems pretty much neither of these teams show any sign of moving from the bottom of the standings.
Looking at the big match this week between no.3 Epsilon and no.4 Endpoint, it was almost no competition for Epsilon this week. Epsilon destroyed them across the boards in everyway, winning the first game 1-14 and closing the second one to take the victory. Though few hardcore CS:GO fans actually thought that Endpoint would defeat Epsilon, we expected a little bit more.
As far as dominant matches go, this week Team Infused was the most dominant over their competition. They defeated Prophecy in the first round 10-5, then followed through to bring in the victory in a complete shutdown 6-0. This kind of domination is usually reserved for the top of standings teams romping on those below them, but this week no.5 Infused showed no.2 Prophecy that they are not to be reckoned with. With all previous estimations expecting Prophecy to win, this was a big upset and a great win for Infused.
