Battle Report: League Of Legends NA LCS Summer Split – Week 6 (July 14-16)

In another exciting week of the NA LCS Summer Split, we have some big changes happening as Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is forced to a three-way tie for 1st place. On the rise, Team SoloMid (TSM) and Immortals capitalized this week, taking care of business and winning all of their matches.

Taking a close look at the team that has led most of the summer split in 1st place, CLG failed to capitalize on a win against Team Dignitas, tying them 1st place this week. With a match against Immortals next week and a match against TSM in Week 9, CLG could not have picked a worse time to lose to the previously ranked #5 team. With one of their losses already given by the Immortals and a week 9 match-up against the dominant Rift Rivals’ victors, TSM, the odds are beginning to stack against CLG. A loss against either of these teams likely means obstruction of winning the series for CLG.

Looking at the dominant Rift Rivals’ victor, TSM capitalized coming off this hot NA/EU LCS win, winning a schedule that was comparatively easier schedule than its’ closest competitors. Showing off some true might with some amazing plays this week, TSM swept both Phoenix1 and Team Liquid, bringing in 4 more wins to put them at the top of the leaderboard. Although tied with CLG and Immortals for 1st place, TSM was placed at the top of the leaderboard for having the best total win rate, 20W – 7L, followed by Immortals and CLG whom are 19W – 11L and 19W-12L respectively. As these wins were completely expected, they mark only the continuation of TSM’s dominant streak.

With the biggest match-up this week, Immortals were able to pull off a huge win against Cloud9. This win not only put them tied for 1st place, but was a imperative victory before next week’s match against CLG. Simultaneously, Cloud9’s final hopes of winning this summer split were completed obstructed in this 1-2 loss to Immortals. As Immortals take home victories against both of their match-ups this week, they put themselves in a prime contending spot to win the summer split.
