Last week Counter Logic Gaming lost its’ No. 1 seed for the first time in weeks in a loss to the seasons’ new leader, Immortals. Meanwhile Team Dignitas brought down Team SoloMid for their first loss since their NA/EU LCS Rift Rivals victory. Now Team Dignitas has a shot to bring down all 3 of the season’s leaders 3 weeks in a row.
Beating CLG in week 6 and TSM in week 7, Team Dignitas now looks to take on Immortals in week 8. Although they also lost to Cloud9 last week, Team Dignitas seems to be on a quite a streak, taking down the season’s leaders from the bottom of the leaderboard standings and moving into prime playoff position. As the underdogs against Immortals, this is a game Team Dignitas wants to win to take down 3 of the top teams 3 weeks in a row. Although in the next two weeks they play Echo Fox and Team Liquid(week 9) at the bottom of the standings, they also face off against CLG in week 9. To stay in prime playoff position they will win their easier matches against Team Liquid and Echo Fox in addition to upsetting either Immortals or CLG.
As far as the seasons’ leaders go, TSM and CLG have comparatively easy schedules, facing teams like FlyQuest, Team Envy, and Phoenix1. However, this week cannot be overlooked for CLG in particular. With 2 losses in the past 2 weeks, they are looking to turn it around and win some easy matches, but most importantly, avoid more big upsets.
