TSM defeated Immortals to win their third straight NA LCS title

This was a battle between two powerhouse teams. Making NA LCS history, TSM rocked Immortals in a daring 3-1 rally.

During this series, both teams made minimal mistakes in the laning phase; the strength of all 10 players was evident even as the series begun. Even though TSM kept their gold deficit to a minimum, Immortals were able to squeak out gold leads through better tower control.

TSM’s superiority started to show at the mid gamepoint. Teamfights were dominated by TSM’s carries, at the heart of which was TSM support Vincent “Biofrost” Wang. With Rakan on hand, Biofrost showed a mastery on the champion in 3 out of 4 games. Biofrost’s engages and ultimate usage as Rakan played a key role in TSM’s win.

Despite all that, Immortals continued to look for plays. TSM, who mostly picked scaling champions this series, were just too strong for Immortals.

TSM is prepping for the World Championships.

Despite winning the league, TSM heads into Worlds as a pool two seed, due to their poor performance at the Mid Season Invitational.

Immortals, however, did qualify for Worlds through championship points and will be alongside TSM in pool two.

Tomorrow’s Regional Qualifiers will decide which team earns North America’s third and final seed at Worlds. The Regional Qualifiers start on Sept. 8, with Team Dignitas facing off against FlyQuest.
